Enter your zip code, above, for your local weather (US only, for now).
Lightspeedweather.com is a fast-loading weather website. It's ideal for people with slow internet connections, slow phones, older phones, older computers, slow browsers, or anyone who wants their weather faster!
I was very frustrated with the major weather websites, as they took too long to load, when I was in a hurry, or even not in a hurry. Maybe it was "my fault", for not having the latest and greatest computer, high RAM, speedy internet connection, but it was getting very old, very fast.
I have programming skills, and thought that I'd build a simple weather website for myself, at least. Then, it occurred to me that I could make it even better and share it with everyone.
Major weather websites are overloaded with excessive javascript and other code to advertise, track you, and do other things that you don't need. These bloated sites crash in your browser often, they require more clicks to get your forecast, and suggest some extremely unlikely locations based on your zip code. They also may automatically pop up videos that you don't need, and definitely didn't ask for. One of the most popular weather websites even takes up half my browser page with a header ad now. It's basically unusable!
This could be a good, fast weather website, or "weather app" for Tracfone users, or other users with more basic, money-saving technology.
